Do you love reviewing business performance and communicating financial information to business owners?

ABOUT MD ACCOUNTANCY

You will work with clients who choose to work with us because they’re interested in their numbers, not just submitting documents on time. So you won’t be working to HMRC or Companies House deadlines, and you won’t be doing tax returns under pressure in January!

You will be part of an organisation that strives to grow its client base and service offering by adopting best-of-breed cloud-based software solutions and collaborating with other professional service providers. We believe SMEs deserve access to the tools and techniques used by world-class businesses in a user-friendly and cost-effective way.

You will be encouraged to contribute to, innovate and challenge how we do things to provide better and more efficient services.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

  • A competitive salary benchmarked against the industry every year.
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays. We close the office to clients at Christmas so no one has to work, but the option is there to work uninterrupted if that’s what you prefer. 😊
  • Contribution to the company auto-enrolment pension scheme, or your own – your choice.

Part-time, Full-time, Flexible Working will all be considered – we’re built around flexibility.

Here is how one of our team members describes working with us:

“It is a nurturing place to work whilst being part of a progressive, ambitious company. The team is great to work with and you are listened to and respected. The clients are interesting and the work is varied with the growing client base and evolving technologies.” Mary – June 2023.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • The processing of clients bookkeeping transactions accurately, efficiently and to agreed timeframes, making best use of efficiency tools available.
  • The reconciliation of Aged Payables and Receivables, initiation of supplier payments and chasing of customer debt for some of our clients.
  • Reviewing trial balance and management accounts, taking a balance sheet approach.
  • The identification of planning opportunities for our clients.

You’ll also be expected to contribute ideas and help implement ways we can improve as a business so that you can be part of a more efficient team, add more value and give a better experience to our clients.

THIS FANTASTIC POSITION WILL ALMOST CERTAINLY SUIT YOU IF YOU...

  • have at least 3 years experience working in a UK accountancy practice.
  • can navigate Xero bookkeeping and reporting with your eyes closed.
  • care as much about the people behind the client’s business as about the accuracy of your work.
  • have deeply held core values which are aligned with ours: Integrity, Commitment to Excellence, Teamwork, Efficiency, Care Deeply and Learn Everyday
  • are always looking for ways to improve processes and outcomes.
  • can commute to Marden, Kent for your settling-in period and at least once a week thereafter.
  • are able to communicate in French. This would be a big bonus, but it is not essential for the role.
